Texturing my
Environment | Part 14 -Terrain
So finally, all I had left to texture
was the floor I had quickly put together before I baked on the AO. I do wish I
had the time to do a floor that went all the way around the model floor, I
don’t really know what I was thinking it making it cut off half way around? But
oh well, I think it still looks good and I am happy with the textures I used.
Obviously I wanted the bridge to have
substance and a sense of height, so I made sure I textured the edges with a
rock texture that I had previous used/sourced for the rocks in the environment.
This made it look like the temple area is at the top of a cliff or somewhere
out of reach which is kind of the idea! I then used a variety of floor textures
from CGTextures.com and Mayang, com including a dry grass floor, wet mud and
general grit. Here are the links to those textures:
Current Renders and
WIP’s
So, that means that everything is
textured now. Here are some of the renders and screen caps of the WIP
environment. I still haven't got a light set up on this properly so I need to
sort that out. I also still need to do my normal maps but that will be done
tomorrow hopefully! :D
